    CE01ISSM-RID16-01-OPTAAD000
    Deployment: 7

For deployment 7, 50% and 54% of the values for beam_attenuation and optical_absorption, respectively, are fill values, outliers (+/- 5 SD) or outside of global ranges.

    CE01ISSM-RID16-01-OPTAAD000
    Deployment: 1

optical_absorption and beam_attenuation are arrays of all fill values. According to the computed_provenance in the provenance.json file, practical salinity and temp are missing from the ctdbp_cdef_dcl_instrument_recovered data stream.

According to Roesler and Barnard (Optical proxy for phytoplankton biomass in the absence of photophysiology: Rethinking the absorption line height, Methods in Oceanography, 2013), “absorption meters are highly prone to biofouling, particularly biofilms which not only attenuate the collimated beam but also impact the scattering properties of the optical surfaces and tubes. In productive coastal waters biofouling can have significant impacts (i.e. 10% of the signal) within one to two weeks”.

    Deployment: 7
    7/1/17, 12:00 AM 9/5/17, 12:00 AM

total_volume_scattering_coefficient data show a repetitive pattern of increasing to the upper detection limit of the instrument and dropping to zero. A similar issue has been seen on CE06ISSM-RID16-02-FLORTD000 (see annotation ID 97). This dataset should be annotated.

The variable pressure_depth (dbar) is an array of all fill values for every deployment. This should contain valid pressure data.

    Deployment: 7
    4/19/17, 4:18 AM 10/12/17, 9:50 PM

Deployment 7 recovered_inst data should be available for download (the raw data file is available according to the ingest csv) or annotated to indicate why recovered_inst data are not available.
